BeSocial (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is operated by Platform Talent Inc. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you visit besocial.com (the “Site”). By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Public Social Media Data

We index publicly available information from social media platforms, including creator names and usernames, profile images, follower and subscriber counts, bios and descriptions, platform engagement metrics, and niche or category tags. This data is gathered from publicly accessible sources and is the foundation of our directory.

Form Submissions

When you submit an inquiry form, claim a profile, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, company or brand name, and the content of your message. We also collect optional fields such as campaign type and budget range.

Technical Data

Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure (Vercel) may automatically log your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. We use this data solely for security and operational purposes and do not use it to build behavioral profiles.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Operating and improving the BeSocial influencer and agency directory
  • Connecting brands with creators and agencies through inquiry forms
  • Responding to support requests, removal requests, and data inquiries
  • Sending transactional notifications related to your submissions (no marketing emails without consent)
  • Detecting and preventing fraudulent or abusive activity

3. How We Obtain Data

Creator and agency profiles are built from publicly available information on platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X (Twitter), and Twitch. We do not access private accounts, purchase third-party data lists, or use unauthorized access methods. User-submitted data (inquiry forms, claim requests) is provided voluntarily by you.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Cookies

BeSocial uses minimal cookies. We do not currently use advertising cookies, behavioral tracking cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. Session or preference cookies may be used to support basic site functionality (such as theme preference). You can disable cookies in your browser settings; some site features may be affected.

6. Data Retention

Public profile data is retained as long as the directory operates. Inquiry form submissions are retained for up to 24 months for operational purposes, then deleted. If you request removal of your profile or data, we will process the request and remove or anonymize your data within 30 days (see Your Rights below).

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access:Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction / Rectification:Request that inaccurate or outdated data be corrected.
Erasure / Right to be Forgotten:Request that your data or profile be removed from the Site. We will process removal requests within 30 days.
Data Export:Request a machine-readable export of data you submitted to us.
Object to Processing:Object to how we use your data in certain circumstances.
Restriction:Request that we limit how we use your data while a dispute is resolved.

8. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

  • Right to Erasure: Request permanent deletion of your personal data.

  • Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Right to Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

Our legal basis for processing publicly available social data is legitimate interest in operating a public directory. Our legal basis for processing form submissions is contractual necessity and consent.

10. Children's Privacy

BeSocial is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
